Although the summer is just perfect for sunbathing, sometimes this activity comes with a price. A lot of women get sunburned during the summer. It is true that this is more than uncomfortable, but luckily there are a lot of home remedies you can try that truly work.

Soaking

SunburnsIn order to have some relief from the pain and inflammation, soak the affected skin area in cold water. Remember not to use ice water. Also you could apply cold compresses for 15 minutes. This works by reducing the swelling and it also takes the heat of the skin.

Dip

If your body gets burned all over, you should have a cool bath. It is even better if you add some oatmeal to the water. There are colloidal oatmeal products that you could get, but it is alright if you grind up a cup of oatmeal with a food processor and simply add it to the bathwater.

You wouldn’t even imagine that vegetables can help with sunburn as well. If you got seriously burned in some places, apply a slice of cucumber or potato on the affected area. These help to cool the burn and they reduce the swelling also.

Vinegar

Most probably you know that vinegar comes with acetic acid that can also be found in aspirin. This can help with the itching, pain and inflammation associated with sunburn. Soak paper towels in white vinegar and apply them on the affected areas. Leave the towels on until they dry.

Vinegary bath
