Generally speaking, women have a more holistic view of good health and prefer to combine mind and body techniques to reach their goal of good health and wellbeing. Also the social aspect of attaining good health is important to women.
A group activity is always more interesting and more motivating. It is also a lot more fun. For these and several other reasons many women swear by dancing as the best and most enjoyable ways to be active and attain good health.
Whereas men are liable to think they’ll be making fools of themselves, women have it in them to make the effort and join a class, make the effort and learn a new skill.
Ballroom Dancing: Though considered rather formal, this kind of dancing includes a variety of different dances that require a dance partner.
Ballroom dancing can include the Hustle, Salsa, Merengue, Lindy Hop, West Coast Swing, Tango, Mambo, the Foxtrot and even the Disco Fox.
Ballroom dancing can be an excellent way to enjoy some beautiful music, get in touch with your creative side, meet interesting people and get fit all at the same time.
Ballroom Cardio: For those that don’t want to join a class either because they don’t want to be around others as they learn steps or because of the cost factor, there are many DVDs available that will let you learn and practice this in the privacy of your own home. This can be a great way to improve health and flexibility for women.
Pole Dancing: This one probably became popular due to Susan Myer of Desperate Housewives strutting her stuff to get a message across to her husband, but it did popularize pole dancing, which was earlier viewed as something only strippers did. This is certainly not something that you will see many men doing, so you could say this one’s just for women!
And those that think pole dancing is easy, think again or better still try it out! This is good exercise that will strengthen your arms, legs and core, make no mistake. If this adds a certain something to your relationship in the bedroom, so much the better!
Hula Hoop Dancing: This need not be just something you did in your childhood, hula hoop dancing is now a popular and effective dance workout set to music.
Since it is a complete body workout, it makes you feel great, and improves flexibility as well. It promotes a body and mind connection which promotes holistic health.
