Miscarriage is the natural occurrence of pregnancy loss before the first 20 weeks.

It is also known as spontaneous abortion. It is found that miscarriage affects one out of every four pregnant women.

The chances of having miscarriage increases as you grow older. You have 15% changes of having miscarriage at the age of 20-29.

It rises to twenty eight percent at the age of forty. It is found that the period of 6-8 weeks pregnancy is dangerous and prone to miscarriage.

Most of the miscarriage occurs with the separation of the fetus and placenta from the uterus wall. Generally, you exhibit no miscarriage symptoms if loss of pregnancy occurs in the first ten weeks.

However, there are miscarriage symptoms that you need to know about. Remember that the miscarriage symptoms differ from one female to another.

Vaginal bleeding is the first miscarriage symptom associated with spontaneous abortion. Vaginal bleeding refers to the bleeding in or from the vagina. The vaginal bleeding may be heavy or light, regular or irregular.

Miscarriage Symptoms

It is to be noted that vaginal bleeding within the first twelve weeks is a normal occurrence during pregnancy. However, if you experience a change or increase in the amount of your vaginal bleeding, then consider it as a miscarriage symptom.

Vaginal bleeding with pain is also a miscarriage symptom that signifies the possibility of having loss of pregnancy. Spotting or bleeding without pain is also a miscarriage symptom.

So, if you experience any kind of vaginal bleeding then inform your doctor immediately and have a check up.

Abdominal cramping, genitals, thighs, buttocks and lower back pain are the signs of miscarriage that usually occur soon after the vaginal bleeding commences. Unusual pain in the pelvic region is another miscarriage symptom.

In some cases, vaginal bleeding follows a brownish discharge. Even this is a miscarriage symptom indicating the loss of pregnancy. It is also possible to have a flow of fluid from the vagina without bleeding or pain.

Blood clots or grayish tissue from the vagina indicates that a miscarriage is about to happen.

Other miscarriage symptoms

include decreased breast tenderness, morning sickness, failure of fetal heartbeat, and no fetal movements.

A sudden loss in the weight, dizziness, severe vomiting, painful contractions for five to twenty minutes are also miscarriage symptoms that give good indications of pregnancy loss.

If you experience burning sensation, frequent urination, or pain while urinating then it indicates a miscarriage sign.

Always consult your doctor immediately

if you experience any of these miscarriage symptoms. Your doctor will then test the shape and size of your uterus.

An ultrasound may also be used to observe the position of the uterus and your baby. It is also possible to hear and confirm the heartbeat of the baby through ultrasound.

Your doctor will give you appropriate treatment if your uterus and the baby are in good condition. However, never get depressed with the occurrence of miscarriage. There is possibility of having pregnancy after miscarriage. However, proper care should be taken till you give birth to a healthy baby.
