Controversial new guidelines proposed for publication state something that is bound to stir up controversy and ruffle pro-life feathers – it is proposed that having abortion is safer than having a baby.

abortion safeThis is what the new guidelines issued by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, is now telling women. The guidelines also offer reassurance that women will not suffer psychological problems due to the abortion.

The proposed guidelines are being criticized as following an ‘absurdly liberal agenda’ and also for the fact that contributors to the guidelines include abortion clinics.

The guidelines will try and make women more aware of the fact that complications resulting from abortion procedures are rare and that this could actually be a safer procedure than actually carrying a baby to term.

However it is argued that this is untrue and that many complications of abortion are not included in the official tally.

As per the guidelines, even though abortion is associated with different feelings, only a few women get the long-term feelings of regret, sadness and guilt. This should obviously be welcomed by women who apprehend the negative psychological impact of abortion.
