Viral hepatitis B:

This form of hepatitis can mostly cause damage to your liver. People infected with this virus can be recovered with in six months. The incubation period for this virus is approximately twelve weeks.

In certain rare cases, it can lead to severe damage to liver and life long chronic infection. Once if you are infected with this virus, then you are at high risks of spreading this virus to other persons, even if you are not feeling sick.

There is no cure for this infection. The only method to stay away from this virus is prevention. Some of the important precautionary measures are:

  • The chance for the transmission of this virus is more likely to be from a mother to the child. So, if you are pregnant, then it is very important to have regular check ups and tests for this dreadful infection, to protect your unborn baby.
  • Do not share any dirty needles.
  • Discuss with your sexual partner about the infection and try to avoid direct contact with the body fluids of infected person.

Viral hepatitis C:

This is the most common form of virus found in most of the infected people. It is estimated that about 80% of the population are suffering with this type of viral hepatitis. There is no cure for this infection; prevention is the only treatment for this infection.

In order to protect your self from this dreadful virus, avoid multiple sexual contacts; do not share any needles and the intake of alcohol. Maintain proper diet with more nutritious content to stay healthy.
