Hi parvathi
Usage of contraceptive pills to control excess bleeding are not always the right long term solution. Using intra uterine device like Mirena helps to stop heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding. This device releases a hormone which helps in controlling the menstrual bleeding by 80-96%.
