Birth control has ruled the human society ever since women realized that they are not baby making factories and that relationship, self preservation and financial possibilities responsible for sustaining a family were directly linked to how many children a family can afford.
Of course, religion and society has seen this for many years as something very controversial and did their best to prove that this is something not entirely right but the future of the society has proved them wrong.
The major point is that the birth control in all its forms is equal to all the human processes and brings up both good and bad consequences.
