Different Causes For The Occurrence Of Early Menopause!

Early MenopauseEvery woman is heard of early menopause and now-a-days most of them are suffering with it.

Early menopause is also known as premature menopause. Early menopause occurs below the age of forty.

It occurs due to premature ovarian failure where the ovaries do not function in a normal way as they should function. Ovaries shut down years before they are supposed to.

As a woman, you can reach menopause stage in between the age of 45 and 55, with the average age of 50.

When you reach menopause stage, you can notice the changes in your body between the ages 47 and 53. If you have early menopause, you do not get periods consecutively for twelve months before reaching forty five years of age.

What causes early menopause! There are many causes for the occurrence of early menopause, therefore is difficult to determine the exact cause of early menopause. When menopause cycle occurs, your monthly cycle will stop.

One reason for this is your ovaries no longer have eggs to release. The second reason may be your ovaries do not react to your body’s hormone communications.

The other reason can be ovaries damaged to medical process or have been removed. Before the stoppage of monthly cycle, you enter into perimenopause, which is called as transitional cycle.

Perimenopause phase can last from two to six years. Once your menstrual cycle stops, you are considered to be in menopause stage. The reason for early menopause can be genetic factors, poor diet, stress, drinking and smoking. Some of the auto immune diseases can also cause menopause.

Symptoms you notice! Early menopause symptoms are similar to menopause symptoms. They include night sweats, hot flashes, urinary problems, vaginal dryness, changes in weight, and mood swings.

If you go through early menopause, you are at risk of developing cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis. You also lose interest in sexual activities due to vaginal dryness, urinary tract infections, tiredness and stress.

If you have taken treatments like chemotherapy and radiation therapy, they can destroy larger number of eggs and few eggs will be left. If your ovaries are affected by severe viral infections such as mumps, it can also cause damage to the eggs in the ovaries.

Treatment! If for some reasons, your ovaries are surgically removed earlier that is before the age of forty, you face the sudden onset of severe early menopause if you don’t take hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

Your gynaecologist can suggest treatment with hormone replacement therapy if you experience early menopause.

So, if you are going through early menopause stage, you should start taking hormone replacement therapy as it will protect you from other diseases. You should take the HRT treatment for substantial amount of time and should not give up the treatment and medication half way.
